FDB Incentive

Behaviour HR magazine has published an article on the importance of rewarding high performers and how to do so.

The article, published in April 2024 and shared here, also mentioned our solutions, which we thank the editor for.

New generation HR incentives

More than ever, there is a need to retain and motivate employees, with recognition of their work playing a key role, and especially to back this up with concrete gestures when the employer is genuinely satisfied with the work done and/or the employee’s attitude.
Recognition of an employee’s performance can be linked to performance, although the measurement of this varies according to the position. Employee attitudes, on the other hand, are immediately visible and the employer’s interest is clearly to maintain positive attitudes, but in today’s labour market, words are no longer enough.

An effective reward tool

Employees can be extra motivated by a concrete reward, which, even if only symbolically or virtually, is still real and thus a “trophy” value. This can take many forms: an extra day off, an invitation to a restaurant, a spontaneous event – for example, to celebrate a project completion – or a variety of other gifts. But it’s important that the reward is only for a job well done, because that’s what makes it really worthwhile.
Rewards not only have an impact on the individual, but also contribute greatly to the company’s employer brand by improving the company’s image, peer relations and the general atmosphere within the company, which has a positive impact on everyone, including managers. In order to develop an effective workplace incentive programme, it is up to managers and HR directors to explore and creatively combine the different reward solutions available on the market, as the company itself is a brand and it is important to have a stable but proactive image, to be regularly updated and to be able to surprise.

Experiences as gifts

Along the same lines, FDB Incentive has developed its creative incentive solutions, which include the Feldobox experience gifts. Their original Experience Packages offer a variety of activities and the choice to help employees relax and unwind in the way they most want to after a stressful period. These reward packages guarantee an immediate positive impact and offer experiences that the recipient can enjoy alone or with family or friends. In this way, the company contributes to the well-being of employees outside the company by providing them with memories that they will cherish for a long time.
A great advantage of this kind of package is that the user can choose from a wide range of offers, so there is sure to be something to suit them. Employers can choose a package based on the personality of the employee and the company’s values, for example, gastronomy, wellness, travel, culture or adventure, or even a combination of these, such as the Fantasy, Harmony and Energy packages, which start at 6900 HUF. Or employers can simply top up a Feldobox gift card with an amount of their choice, giving rewarded employees up to 1,500 programme options to choose from in the webshop.

Gift cards

The incentive specialist also offers gift cards from a number of well-known brands – such as Decathlon, Media Markt, C&A, Líra, eMAG, Wigo – which can be redeemed in the brand’s stores or webshops, as well as its own gift cards, which can be redeemed at nearly 500 points of acceptance in the country. This way of giving also offers choice: the monetary gift cards can be used by the rewarded employee to purchase a wide range of products or services. This solution is closer to a cash reward, but can be “branded” if required: corporate customers can request their own cards with their corporate identity at no extra cost. Another advantage is the cost-effectiveness, as there is no extra fee for the amounts loaded onto the cards, the entire amount being used as a gift.

Gifting well and at the right time

Of course, it is not only the choice of the reward that is important, but also the context of the gift: the timing, the way it is given and, above all, the communication that accompanies it. FDB Incentive can also help you design an effective rewards programme, with previous case studies available on the company’s website (www.fdb-incentive.hu).
In addition to FDB Incentive’s gifting options and consultancy services, corporate clients can also make use of the company’s IT tools based on digital technology, which allow for example the scheduled sending of Feldobox experience gifts or rechargeable gift cards by electronic means, accompanied by a personalised message. This gifting method can be practical for rewarding home office employees or a large number of colleagues at once.

The new generations of workplace incentives described above offer a number of benefits, so they are worth considering if you are planning to introduce a workplace incentive scheme in your company or if you want to renew or rethink an existing scheme.
